Referral

Do I need to be referred by my GP for physiotherapy treatment?
No, you do not need to be referred by your doctor for treatment. Physiotherapists are automomous practitioners and their extensive specialist training means they should be ‘your first port of call' for any musculoskeletal problem. The physiotherapist who treats you will write a report to your GP on completion of your treatment, and will advise you if you need to see a doctor with regard to your condition.

NB Some health insurance companies state that you require a doctors referral if you wish them to pay for your treatment, so it is essential for you to check your policy before starting treatment.

At Grosvenor Physiotherapy we are always happy to advise, so if you want more information about the services offered by Grosvenor Physiotherapy, or you want to book an appointment, then get in touch with us from the contact us page.
